AWA Drops Debut EP cry.baby!

Today marks the release of AWA’s debut EP ‘cry.baby.

The EP follows the success of her last single ‘Too Late For That’ ft. BJ The Chicago Kid. The single had incredible success at radio with a ‘Record of the Week’ spot on 1Xtra with Yasmin Evans & a ‘Track of the Week’ spot with Rickie, Melvin & Charlie on Radio 1. Alongside this it was playlisted by 1Xtra, Kiss FM and Kiss Fresh as well as Radio 1 & Capital Xtra support.

The EP includes two brand new tracks as well as previous singles ‘Like I Do’ which was premiered by FADER and gained playlist support from 1XTRA & Kiss Fresh as well as ‘Best New Pop’ on Radio 1. It also includes her Columbia Records debut ‘F**kin’ Love Songs’ which was premiered  by Julie Adengua on BEATS 1, with the accompanying video premiered on COMPLEX; as well as ‘Comfortable’ which has been tipped by Nylon and Spindle, as well as receiving love from Radio 1, 1Xtra and BEATS 1 and Kiss Fresh.

Preaching the importance of self-love AWA addresses various types of relationships but most importantly the one we have with ourselves. Influences from 90’s R&B run through the EP &  listen out for the sample of Mase’s  classic ‘What You Want.’

“I like to look at “cry.baby” as a body of work that goes through the motions and perspective of different relationships. The casual ones, the complicated, the beautiful and the most important, the one with yourself. It’s all a journey and as long as you grow a little from your experiences, you good boo.” -AWA
